design flaws that allow the digital temp dispaly to show normal safe temperatures which are acually 10 to 15 degrees f higher and unsafe; the refrigerator coil freezes and the fan stops working and the air temps in the refrigertor rise unknowing. the coils have to be defrosted every month in order for the refrigerator to operate. there needs to be a full refund for purchase price. samsung is negligent in this matter and this will not be tolerated and consumers will get justice, satisfaction and restitution for the full purchase price including removeal and destruction of this defective refrigerator.

for over a year now, been having to run the icemaker defrost cycle a few times a week to get ice. even doing that, i still need to go in with a hairdryer about once a month to manually defrost it. and now, as if that wasn't bad enough, it's also gotten inconsistent on water: sometimes it dispenses, sometimes it doesn't. curse the day i purchased this thing.

ice maker froze up about a year after we had it. advice for fixing it was to thaw it out; after a few thaws and refreezes we gave up and quit using it. worse problem is water has started dripping internally and externally. back of fridge has ice. the water leak is in the front right corner and got down into the floor without running out into the kitchen. i did not see the leak for some time and it has rotted the subfloor. looked up the fix and it is fairly complicated. samsung makes repair parts to upgrade. i saw this review section when looking up dimensions for a new fridge, and a screen popped up asking me to call when they saw i was giving a low review. i called, and was advised to disconnect power to thaw for 3 hours or call a repairman.

My RF25HMEDBSR fridge has real problems

Most of the features of this fridge are just fine, but the ice maker is an epic fail. When i go to get ice one of three things happens: auger spins & no ice comes out…. or slush ice comes out gradually, or 1/2cup of water pours out. I have never gotten a whole cube out of this thing. I spend about an hour every weekend in forced defrost mode. It has never worked right but is gradually getting worse.

for years we had problems with the ice maker. i had service at least 6 times until they finally found a solution for it. now, the area behind the fan freezes and the fan won't run and it makes a horrible noise. this has happened at least 3 times in the last 6 months. i will never buy another samsung refrigerator.

this refrigerator has been a complete nightmare and samsung has stood behind it in no way despite class action lawsuits and thousands of customer complaints. the ice maker started freezing up within the first year of ownership such that we had to fully defrost it or blow it out with a blow dryer ever 3-6 months. this reached the point that we had to do this every month. after 3 years the entire back plane of the refrigerator would have ice such that the fan would make a motorboat noise as it clicked along the ice. this required complete dissassembly and thawing every 3-6 months. this is now something we do every 30 days maximum and, to prolong this, we are forced to run the refrigerator defrost daily.

class action law suit: the following issues are occuring - and have been for over a year now: ice build up inside the back panel, will only cool to 51 degrees- unsafe for food storage, water leaks from ice maker, ice maker does not work - ice build up inside the ice maker, water leaks into the produce drawer, water pools at the bottom under the crisper drawers- grows mold - this product is not repaireable- design defect- nationwide documentation and bbb complaints; face book page - samsung refrigerator recall usa now

just google the ice maker issue and you'll see. there is even a class action suit about it. ours hasn't worked in months. you can defrost and it may work for a few days, and right back to it. on top of that, the freezer and middle drawers have handles that break easily as they connection is plastic and breaks overtime. we are on the 3rd replacement now, 2 of which are out of pocket. we are moving to a different brand now. in 4 years, we had 2 new fridges, 3 different handles replaced, 2 ice makers, and we still have no ice.

i splurged for this nice looking fridge with ice/water dispenser. it looked great & worked great for 1 year. then the ice maker stopped working. when i pulled out the ice bucket inside of the ice compartment was frozen over. went online to find out this is a known defect that samsung did not recall. every month now when the ice stops working i have to defrost the compartment and reset the ice maker. my sister has same issue. apparently a widespread problem. disappointing, as i type this the cooling fan in the fridge is making a loud noise. again googled my issue & found people with same problem. ice build up behind the inside fridge panel. another service call. samsung should make good on their engineering defects. when i replace this appliance it won't be a samsung.

do not buy this model. i made the mistake to buy it in 2016, and 4 years later the ice maker stop working. i have to unplug the refrigerator to allow the ice to melt. now the refrigerator is freezing inside and the fun is making a lot of noise and not flowing cold air inside the refrigerator. i bought it a lowes but they do not provide any type of solution. i have not been able to find a technician that can repair it. for the price i paid, it is not fun that 4 years later, i need to buy another refrigerator!

i purchased this refrigerator in august 2018. not even 2 years later, the ice machine is freezing up, leaking and just not working properly at all. we have defrosted it countless times and had lowes repairmen come out 2x to service it. they told us it's "normal". i disagree! it is not normal to press the ice and get an inch of water in your glass and to have water leaking out on the inside of the refrigerator. i reached out to samsung who put me in touch with a service repair man. they told me it was out of warranty (even though i purchased the extended warranty!) and cancelled my ticket. i just wished i had read the reviews before purchasing this piece of junk. shame on you samsung for not recalling or offering to fix these for free. faulty product and even worse customer service!

unless you want to defrost your refrigerator every 2-3 weeks i would look elsewhere. there is ice build up around the ice maker that stops it from working and also around the fan that then makes a sound like a baseball card stuck in a bicycles spokes. for the first year and a half it was a great fridge but after that its design flaws started to show.

i bought this refrigerator new in 2014. i bought it at home depot with a 5 year extended warranty. i have had nothing but problems with the ice maker freezing up and this causes the ice to not fall. we used that 5 year extended warranty over and over again to try and fix this problem. they would come and replace parts and supposedly fix the problem, but as of july 2020 still the same problem. this is a know problem with samsung and my husband contacted them but they never replied back. this refrigerator was costly. i will never again purchase a samsung refrigerator.

we purchased this fridge in july 2014. we have discovered that the temperature shown on the front of the fridge is off by 15 degrees. food cannot be safely stored at 50 degrees. after doing research we found that the ice maker constantly freezing over, the incorrect temperature reading, and the compressor issues are super common and known about (google it). these issues are not warranty related and are a design defect. we are incredibly disappointed that this is still being sold and that nothing is being done for consumers. people don't expect to spend good money on this fridge for it to only last 5 years. do yourself a favor and research before buying.

i bought this fridge due to the good looks and the slick design. unfortunately, this turned out to be my worst purchase i ever made. i bought the fridge 5 years ago.a few month after the purchase the fridge started to break down. -ice maker didn't work -cooling fluid was leaking -pressure in the cooling system not right -fan ices up every 5 month -fluid still needs to get recharged frequently -insolation not proper needed to get fixed within not even 5 years i had 7 repair guys over to get it back running again + i had to buy from my own money a small spare fridge and freezer in order not to throw away all my food every time. i was a big samsung fan and bought many other samsung products (washer, dryer, tv, phone etc.) however that was probably the last time i bought a samsung product.

i could not give less than one star, if i could i would have. we bought this new two years ago and the ice make has been constant trouble since the first day. go search samsung ice maker and you will see what i mean. it is a crime they can still sell refrigerators. it is too bad because everything else about this is nice. every other month i have to take everything out of the refrigerator and turn it off to get rid of the ice build up. now i have an old refrigerator in the garage to keep our stuff in so i can keep shutting this new one off, totally stupid. first chance i get this one is going and i will buy another brand.

we have had nothing but issues since purchase date 2015.ice maker freezes up -> affects the compressor motor -> the fridge makes a horrible grinding sound -> shuts off.we have spent countless hours dealing with this to prevent loss of food (which has happened). "fixed" 2 times by professionals...discovered that this is a pervasive problem known to samsung since 2007.i was told by samsung it would refund me the original cost of this fridge.i get a text subtracting the agreed amount by $1100!!! samsung.....are you listening? if you would have just honored the quoted refund then we wouldn't be here :-(

while i fell in love with the flexzone drawer and the stainless black color, the infatuation ended with the ice maker in the door. every 4 months the ice maker would freeze up and stop producing ice. samsung warranty covered 3 repairs and an entire unit replacement, followed by another repair, and still, it will not function. i am so frustrated and disappointed with buying another samsung kitchen appliance only to have it fail. buyer beware. dont make the mistake and purchase any of the in door icemaking units.

this refrigerator has been such a huge disappointment. the ice machine quit working after the 2nd year. we fixed that and now the fan and defrost sensor are not working correctly.

9 months after purchase, the ice maker froze monthly. a recurring prob, but warranty had expired. $600 repairman fix lasted 6 months. samsung knows issue & how to fix. no more samsung fridges for me!

i loved this refrigerator until the ice maker began freezing up solid. i have 3 repairs and the repairman is coming back again tomorrow to perform some upgrades and hopefully to fix the ice maker.

I bought this fridge just under a year ago. Ice maker is always freezing up. Have to defrost before even removing the tray. Even shut the ice maker off when not in use. Judging from all the reviews going back years I would think Samsung would have fixed the issue. DO NOT BUY. Last Samsung product I will be buying.

Flex Zone dosent work

Had 2 different units since March 2019. The first unit water dispenser kept leaking. After leaking stopped the ice maker had a bad burning smell! Replacement fridge, the Flex zone drawer stays at 40 degrees. Bacteria mode. Tech couldn't fix it and advised I use the drawer for vegetables. Samsung has offered to refund my purchase. Who spends that much on a fridge for an extra veggie drawer! smh. Buying a plain side by side unit. Fancy tech isn't worth the money or headache.
